Pssst: Drawing notice to—let alone using—a lethal weapon in an argument is a clear signal; a warning; a direct threat. Even if a person just dusts off a weapon while arguing with you, or scolding you, it is a threat. This is obvious, right? Even if they only use a hypothetical argument that posits violence to you, while making their point!
Firing a gun into your possessions and then lording it over you in front of millions? Wow. The only thing you could do to more directly state I OWN YOU AND CAN DISPOSE OF YOU AT WILL is, maybe, say so verbatim in a front page ad in a national magazine. that is some creepy stuff.
THIS x INFINITY
This. This. This.
I have to say that this entire case has been fairly angering and upsetting for me to read about, especially the comments and cheers (mainly from adults) who seem to think this was good discipline and that teenagers deserve this.
Because, no. No one deserves to see their dad go get a gun in response to being angry at them, whether they shoot it or not.
And if you think that this was good parenting or even acceptable in any way? Just get the fuck away from me because I don’t want to deal with you ever again.
